Oral Conscious Sedation

Administered in the form of a prescribed pill, you will take the medication before your appointment. Helping you to feel comfortable throughout your visit, you may become sleepy, but you’ll remain cognizant enough to respond to our cues. Because the effects take time to wear off, you will need someone to drive you home following your appointment.

IV Sedation

For moderate to severe cases of dental anxiety, IV sedation can be used. Administered in the hand or bend of the elbow via an IV, the medication quickly works to keep you fully relaxed. You might even feel as if you’re falling asleep but can be easily woken by our dental team.

General Anesthesiology / Sleep Dentistry

When multiple procedures or severe dental anxiety occur, general anesthesia may be recommended. Also known as sleep dentistry, this allows you to remain unaware of what is happening throughout your procedure so that when you wake, everything is complete, and you have no recollection of what occurred during your visit.

Nitrous Oxide Sedation

As the mildest form of sedation dentistry, this inhaled mixture of nitrous oxide and oxygen allows you to feel at ease and comfortable. Nitrous oxide is known to cause a warm sensation, and you may feel somewhat sleepy; however, once the nasal mask is removed, the effects will immediately wear off, allowing you to resume normal activity.
